Newsflash: Oprah’s Fat!

061112_oprah2

Is there truly nothing else for CNN, Good Morning America & The Today Show to report on besides Oprah’s weight gain? I mean seriously, it’s not the end of the world for someone to weigh 200 lbs. Yes, at Oprah’s height, it may not be optimal, but I’m sure there are a lot of men and women in the world who’d give their right arm to ONLY weigh that amount.

I completely understand the health risks that can arise when people are overweight. Heart disease & diabetes are amongst the leading deaths due to being overweight. But am I supposed to feel sorry for Oprah and her weight?

Sorry, I don’t.

I do feel sorry for Jackie, in Ohio, who weighs 300 lbs and can’t afford to have Dr. Oz, a personal trainer and chef by her side. Let’s not even mention the millions of dollars, I’m certain Jackie doesn’t have in her bank account. I also feel sorry for those women who aren’t overweight, but when they look in the mirror, and because of our society’s image of what ‘beautiful’ is, they’re starving themselves literally to death. Has anyone seen a picture of Donatella Versace’s daughter, Allegra, recently? She’s definitely not the picture of great health, and she’s not fat.

Till this day, my size fluctuates between a size 10 & a 14. I think just by looking at a donut too hard I gain a few pounds. But I know that if I don’t eat the donut, I won’t have that problem. I’ve come to realization that I’ll never be smaller than a 10, and honestly, I don’t even think I’ll look right. At 5’10, I’ll be damned if I become a victim of “The Charms Blow Pop Body Syndrome”. Big head. Little body. Not a good look.

Enough about me, back to Oprah.

How many times have we seen the skinny Oprah? How many times have we seen the ‘fat’ Oprah? Every couple of years she’s flip flopping back and forth and we’re innudated with news reports about Oprah’s weight. I remember her first skinny episode, when I was a kid, and she came out in the tight jeans & black sweater.

oprah

What vividly still stands out in my mind, is how large her head looked. Not cute. At all. I think  that drastic weight loss is what initially set her up for weight loss & gain failure. I can’t even start  to imagine the pressure she put on herself to loose that initial weight, but then to only gain it back.  Over & over & over & over again. Maybe if she started out trying to be “medium” Oprah and not “skinny” Oprah, she wouldn’t be in the predicament she’s in now.

So now millions of viewers will tune in to Oprah, to watch her weight loss progress again. As she’s having her meals cooked by professional chefs, having her personal trainer stand by her side and guide her through her work outs, and as Dr. Oz is trying to teach her to ‘love’ the skin she’s in. But meanwhile, in Ohio, Jackie is sitting down, watching Oprah, with another box of donuts by her side, wishing she could just afford her Bally’s membership that is raping her blind.

Go Oprah!

I may have to give this workout a try:

I am signing my name on the dotted line and co-signing this entire post. You as a UBER-RICHE woman can NOT sit and complain about being 200lbs. SORRY! With every possible aide at her whim (except of course the will and discipline for self) I do not truly care about her weight issues. I’m way bigger than her and I just don’t see the point in sitting around complaining about how fat I am. I love me. THAT comes first. Then the other stuff can be a little easier.

Will & discipline! Some people have it…other’s don’t. Occasionally, I’m in the later portion of the group. But it’s all about you doing for self, and not when someone points it out to you.

You are so right. That doesn’t need to be broadcast to the entire world when she is surely not the only one with the weight issue. If anyone has watched “Ruby” on the Style Network, you would really want to cheer her own on her fight against obesity. She started off weighing over 400 pounds and at the end of the first season she has lost 104 pounds. Ruby is doing something about her problem. You go Ruby! As far as Oprah, if she is not happy, then she need to run a few marathons, jump rope or something but she can keep that to herself and the news media can find something else more newsworthy than Oprah’s fluctuating weight.

I’ve never heard of Ruby but I did look it up and she’s definitely come a long way! I like to take a satirical approach to certain things and Oprah happens to be one of them today..lol

I don’t think Oprah being fat is news, but for a different reason than you guys do. I do think it shows Oprah as a human being and not this entity to be worshipped on the mount. She has health problems, she eats when she’s stressed (shocker!) and she doesn’t know what to do.
The reason why this isn’t news is because we’ve seen it so many times. Although I do believe that obesity becomes more of a problem the lower the income, all of the tools that we need to be healthy are available to most of us. I also like Ruby BECAUSE she is doing something about it. What I don’t like seeing are people Jackie the person Jackie you speak of. Lack of money is not a reason to be overweight. You can walk around most places in most cities for free. She could save money for a Bally’s membership by NOT EATING THE DOUGHNUTS!
Now I’m not rich, or skinny, but a little personal responsibility, please.

I was truly being facetious with the “Jackie” story 🙂 I don’t watch much tv, but I did look up stuff about Ruby and she’s truly remarkable!

Ok, so I’m not gonna click and watch that video. If I see another fuckin man sing that bullshit aong on Youtube I’m gonna slap somebody.
    Oh yeah…
    Oprah.
Well, I don;t see the big deal either. Its not like everybody in America is skinny anyway. Not making excuses, but did you see the face on that skinny bitch on the right in the pic above? Shit, if I have sex with her, I swear she could stab me with her collar bone if I lay on her the wrong way. But this is about Oprah, my bad. I’ve always had sexual fantasies about that woman no matter how much she weighs. But you just fucked it up for me by posting that pic of her as your main pic. Could you imagine if thats her sex face?

      Thanks, E!
I wouldn’t call myself an Oprah fan, but when she starts looking like Ms. Sophia from “The Color Purple” that’s when she should feel like she has a problem!
