My Greying Love Below

Today started out as a pretty normal day. I woke up, showered, grabbed a bite to eat and decided not to head into work. I planned on only spending a few hours working from home and then head out to run some errands. Around 10 a.m I wrapped up everything I was doing and decided to head out. Something told me to stop by the bathroom before I left because I had two bottles of water and some grapes for breakfast (how appetizing).

So, I’m in the bathroom doing my ‘thing’ and I look down and saw a glimmer of something. I blinked a couple of times b/c I thought I must have been seeing things. I opened my eyes, and looked again. That’s when I almost had a conniption fit!

I saw grey hair on my ‘love below’!!

I couldn’t f^king believe it then, and I still can’t believe it now. I figured I would further inspect, just to make sure I was seeing correctly, but it was clear as day! WTF!! Considering I turned 32 this year, I’ve only found one piece of grey hair on my head and that really wasn’t a big deal. When I found the grey hair on my head, I looked at it for a second and said, “Oh well”, and moved on. BUT…this is something totally different. My mother never told me about grey hair down there!

I called a friend of mine and  I told her my life was coming to the end (yes, I was being very overdramatic, but well..that’s how I am sometimes). She asked what was wrong in her concerned voice. I told her what I discovered, and she said, “Wowwwwwwwwwww, yeah pretty much!”…then we started to laugh and discuss our grey horror stories.

Well, considering that I’m a slave to the hair dye, I guess I can’t really tell how many other greys I have on my head. Right now, my hair is various shades of browns & some honey/blonde splashed in, there’s no sight of grey at all….but now, everytime I go to the bathroom, I’ll be forced to notice that one little glimmer of grey!

But wait, upon further investigation,  I’ve found the perfect solution to my greying love below! I remembered earlier this summer in Oprah’s Magazine, there was a “We Tried It” article about “Betty Beauty”! Yes, people Betty Beauty is a hair dying product for the pubic area! You can go from Jet Black to Fushia, or even carve out some pretty cool halloween designs with their stencil package! I swear, there’s a solution for just about everything nowadays.

Now, I guess the hard part is trying to figure out what color I want to use. Decisions, decisions.

Ladies, would you dye your ‘love below’?

Men, what would you do if you saw some colorful designs on the ‘love below’?

    No colors, I like the kitty trimmed nice, close, and neatly if you nah mean! But if I HAD to choose I guess I’d have the carpet match the drapes, which would be some weird red, brown, black hodepodge of randomness, lol…..

      @Naturally Alise

      LOL @ hodgepodge! You and me both. I doubt I’ll try any coloring either, so I’ll just stick with my normal trim & cropped do..lol

    ROFL! Girl, you had the same reaction I did when I found a stray one peeking at me one morning. All of my closest friends are older than me and no one cared enough to warn me. I’ll have to check out that dye. I’d consider trying it for toots and giggles.

    Oh goodness…this is all so depressing!!! I mean, I have never been one to worry about getting old and getting grey hairs anywhere–but at 32…that’s too soon….too too soon!!!! 52 ok…but 32…NOOOOO…say it aint so!!!!! ( I need a moment)
    To answer your question, I don’t think I would dye it.

      Girl, I have friends who started going grey in their twenties! It’s a natural bodily function lol

  13. October 21, 2008 - Reply

    Yikes! lol That was some story. I’m almost 38. I’ve got some gray in my hair on my head. I actually keep my hair cut pretty short so it looks more salt and pepper. Don’t think I’ve ever had much in my pubic area though. I had no clue they made dye for pubic hair.

      @Keith

      Keith, I guess there’s something for everything!
      I mean there’s the spray on hair color for men…so why not for the pubes?

    The first time I saw a grey hair in my head, I promptly bought some hair dye, and then calmed down after my intial panic, plucked out the offending hair and haven’t seen one since and that was two years ago.. I just threw that box away a few days ago. I don’t know what goes on down in the nether regions because of my own “personal stye”, but if I realized I had some grays down there, I would just continue to go baby smooth.
    In terms of multiple colors down there, it is possible at least with white folks. Not that I would know about such things. But it is possible to have brown, blonde, and red hairs down there simultaneously, but it isn’t noticeable until you get close, at least on guys, again, not that I would know anything about that.

      @Siditty

      You keep on saying, “not that you would know anything about that”…lol
      Does your husband have multiple colors? LOL (just joking:) )

    Dye my love below?! That sounds scary! I don’t know about that one :/. The designs I can get with…but that’s all.

    • October 22, 2008 - Reply

      @Mimi

      The dye is non-toxic and all natural..It’s not like a lye relaxer or hair color lol

  16. October 22, 2008 - Reply

    Grey I wasn’t surprised about. What nobody told me was that the hair would start to THIN down there!

    • October 22, 2008 - Reply

      @Hyacinths

      Shoot, I would be happy with the thinning, less pruning and trimming I have to do!

  17. October 23, 2008 - Reply

    I haven’t noticed any gray hairs down below but I got my first gray hair at 27. I am 33 and I have some gray around the front of my hair, however you can’t see it unless I part it down the middle. I am about to dye it again because right now I don’t want to rock the gray stripe (that’s what I call it cause it’s in one section of my hair).
    The only big issue I have is combating acne in my 30’s, which seems so backwards…gray in your 20’s acne in your 30’s= a whole lot of maintance to keep the hair and skin in check.
