Yesha Callahan

Dear R. Kelly:

I guess money does buy alot of things! I’m not sure how much you paid the girl’s family or even the girl herself, but you’ll eventually have to only answer to one person. I hope your daughters never come across someone as vile and filthy as yourself.

I was so hoping that you’d be marked with the scarlet letter of “PEDOPHILE”, but a jury has just given their not guilty verdict. I’ve never been a fan, and never will be. Just the sight of you absolutely disgusts me!

You are now free to molest and continue about your business. I was hoping that you’d end up in a 10×10 cell, but a jury saw fit to find you not guilty. I’m just wondering, how many of those jurors were, dumb, deaf and blind and the parents of teenage girls?
Once again, the justice system has failed.

I don’t understand it. I AM a fan, and I still believe he did it. I guess the system worked for HIM. I really don’t know what else to say. I am in shock.

Are these people KIDDING ME?!?! This is utterly ridiculous…I am just SICK right now! He should be some big burly dude’s bust it baby in jail right now, not FREE. God is NOT gonna keep giving him chances like this. For real, he needs to get it together. We may never see him in a jail cell, but a wooden box if he keeps playin around with folks’ kids!

I haven’t followed the case from beginning to end; I only read the reasons stated for the acquittal:

    1. The man in the video had no mole on his back. R.Kelly does. I think this is what nailed it shut more than anything.
    2. The star witness (an adult and not the purported victim) admitted in court that she had stolen his $20,000 diamond studied watch from his room. R.Kelly had complained she further attempted to extort money from him.
    3. The victim, who knows both R.Kelly and the star witness (a family member?) denies she was the girl/woman in the video.

Funge, you know I was an abused child after reading my post this morning, Please Don’t Cut Off My Arm. I take abuse very seriously. While the evidence looks strong that he didn’t do the crime from the little I’ve read, I don’t rule it out completely, since money rules the world.

But I keep thinking about that mole situation, and I also how cruel people can be when they fiend for money and go to the lengths of stealing your valuable shit and then attempt (if true) to blackmail you. Pedophiles don’t stop, so if we see another allegation, we’ll pretty much know for sure.

That we haven’t in the six years since his trial began gives me hope that he’s innocent.

What we know for sure is that Kelly’s highly paid lawyers managed to keep this out of court until emotions died down, which is a crucial element to getting a defendent off. One news report I saw said there was one frame where a mole appeared present. Whatever the truth is, I think Kelly’s a sleazeball. “Pimp Daddy”? “The Pied Piper” (who used music to get children to follow him)? The only reason he avoided similar charges in Florida is that the search that turned up photos of him having sexual intercourse with yet another underage girl was determined to be illegal. The search was illegal; his behavior is apparently acceptable. For him. All I can say is: what goes around comes around.

I’m just so upset. Even if he didn’t do THAT GIRL… It’s obvious he’s done other little girls.

Fuck, fuck, fuck a duck. I returned here to see what other folks said, and saw where Changeseeker mentioned the same type of crimes in Florida. Thanks for the heads up.

I googled news on him with Florida and got this: Timeline of R. Kelly’s Career, Legal Troubles.

    Damn.

Sure ’nuff, one of our most talented musicians is stuck in the old time country values mentality that it’s fine and dandy to pursue young females once they hit puberty. I’m talking about how a lot of our old folks from the South and the Prairie who commonly married at 14 – but even then, they usually weren’t more than seven years apart and had parental approval.

The shit he’s gotten away with ain’t cool, and in particular, having threesomes with girls that young is trashy, piss-poor role modeling for our youth.

The man needs help. I’ll be helping him by not letting his music in my house.

da_kween: you’re not the only one in shock…and i was never a fan..never will be.

shy: i read a report where most of the jurors knew it was him in the video but b/c the girl wouldn’t testify they had nothing else to go on.

kit: I don’t even know if it even was a mole…and I’m certain the star witness was paid off quite handsomely.

changeseeker: SEE! People forgot about the Florida incident and the sloppy work the police dept. and district attorney did!

lisa turtle: hello? remember he was the one engaged to aaliyah? if only those walls could talk back then…

kit: he has a history of being a child molesting perv…i have no sympathy for him..but i feel sorry for his children and family members who harbor the truth.

Oh no… HE MARRIED AALIYAH, I thought. It was like the biggest rumor in the day and I could’ve sworn after she died her family confirmed it on Behind The Music!

LMT: oh yeah, MARRIED…my mistake..and I’m sure he consummated that as well!

Okay for the record I think the man is guilty. He’s been telling us how he got down for years. I know I’m not the only one who noticed that the lyrics to “Seems like you’re ready” are clearly about an escapade with an underage (possibly virgin) chick. Then there’s the whole Pied Piper thing, Aaliyah, etc, etc. However, while I think his actions were wrong, I don’t think he necessarily deserves the same punishment as a person who rapes a young girl completely against her will. The emotional scars from that are completely different and much more severe. There are thousands of young girls who get deflowered by older men every year. But because the men are not as high profile as R. Kelly (or stupid enough to record it) most get to walk around scot free. These girls generally go on to live normal lives like I’m sure this chick will. Now with that said I do think he should have been punished somehow, just not as severely as a rapist who raped a girl against her will. And he also should have gotten something for the child porn charge. (But then again technically so should everyone who had a copy of the tape in their home at any point). I think R.Kelly will answer for his wrongs in the long run. But am I appalled by his acquittal? No. Another dirty old man walks scot free…not shocking.

Wow. I just read the time line in KIT’s post! Didn’t know about the search in FL. I definitely have no sympathy for the man because it appears that he thinks this behavior is okay. I think the man clearly has a problem and needs to seek counseling but I’m still not surprised or appalled by the acquittal.

I think justice was served. The jury’s virdict reflects the evidence (or lack there of) as presented. I dunno if there was a payoff, but its hard to believe that there was and it never was brought up by the state prosecutor. Hell, they had fuckin 20yrs to prepare for this case, didn’t they?

I still find just as disturbing that he was on the “Make it rain” remix. I think that was his way of thumbing his nose on the low…..or am I just really tired from working 3rd shift last nite?
