Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

“You ain’t got to lie! You ain’t got to lie, Craig!” ~Joy, “Friday”

Why oh why, must people lie?  I’m not sure how many times I’ve told people in my life that I have a pretty good memory, so don’t get caught out there in a lie. I hate having to remember other people’s stories. I mean really, what’s so hard about telling the truth???

*Stands on pulpit*

THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!!!!!!!!!

 *Steps off pulpit*

Lies, lies and more lies. I seriously think that a vast majority of people out there are pathological liars. When you can’t distinguish the truth from lies, then you definitely have a problem. My ex  was definitely one of those types of people. I took notes on his stories all the time. There were moments where I had to remind his ass of what he said, when, what he was wearing when he said it, and what my response was.  V E R B AT  I M.

If there’s one thing I can’t stand in this world, it’s a liar.

It never ceases to amaze me how?people can easily tell one lie after another. Is this a genetic flaw? Something that is picked up along the way? I guess there are some things that just can’t be explained.

What was the worst lie you’ve ever been told?  What lies have you told?

    I'll go first:
Worst lie I've been told, was by the ex mentioned in the above post. He said that he wasn't cheating when I confronted him, but weeks later, I found out otherwise, and even when the proof was there, including the other woman, he still denied it.
Worst lie I've told, happened when someone always asked me 'was it good', after the 'heat of the moment' & I always replied 'yes', even though it sucked monkey balls ALL the time.

So I had an ex who had me believing his lie for years. Told me he had a sister who still lived with his pops in the town he grew up in. Sister would visit from time to time, and even though I saw pics, I never did meet her. Oddly enough she seemed to always visit when I was out of town or busy. Turns out, chick WAS NOT his sister, unless that's what we're calling side pieces now.
We broke up over 5 years ago and I just learned of this gargantuan drawn out LIE a couple months ago when I was talking to him randomly and asked about the fam.
So yeah, he played my face. LOL
My lie: Despite his contriteness, sometimes I give him glimmers of hope we may have a chance to work things out one day. BWAAHAHAAHAA

I never was a good liar….I preferred the sin of omission, otherwise known as don't ask me and I won't tell you. The only lie that stood out was similar to the both of you….he lied and said he wasn't cheating, although the girl called me (he's in La. and I'm in Tn., mind you) and told me the business.

My mom would say, "If you'll lie…you'll steal." And even though back then I thought of the "stealing" part more in terms of stealing your best jewelry…sometimes lies steal much more. Trust, love, dignity, choices…lies can be the death of some of life's best virtues.
The worst lie I think I ever told was as a teenager telling my "1st love" that I was pregnant when I wasn't. I sometimes wonder if that adolescent lie didn't rob me of the child I've always wanted and may never have. I'd never do that now…and if I had it to do again…I'd take that back. The worst lie I've ever been told was, "I love you"…Imagine that….

      Thanks Kiwi,
I had never heard that before, that lies steal much more…..that surely gave me something to think about.

Man…I can't really think of a lie I've told period. Nothing really. Damn …I'm like you the truth is way easier to live your life telling. Telling lies takes way to much energy . To have to store the alternative endings to your reality takes up memory. I'd rather use that memory on something else ANYTHING else

I've told plenty of lies. The one that stands out is me telling this chick that my name was Walter Davis. I messed around with her for probably three months all the while she thought that was my name. What can I say, I was married and cheating back then.

"[the] vast majority of people out there are pathological liars"? wow, you're more cynical than me lol.
worst lie told to me: the Bible has all the answers you'll ever need
worst lie told by me: how many girls I'd been with (and embellished stories to match the bodycount), to the girl who would become my wife. red-faced over something so juvenile once it dawned on me she deserved to know i'd lied to her.
