Friday Asides: Terrence Howard

I’ve never really given Terrence Howard much ‘props’ in regards to his acting. I saw how hard it was for him to be a pimp and also crashed right along with him, but I wouldn’t label myself as a ‘fan’. I recently received a copy of his new cd, “Shine Through It”, and I must say, as a singer, he has definitely impressed me. Many entertainers have been unsuccessful in making the transition from actor to musician and vice versa but Terrence, in my opinion, definitely succeeds in making it happen.

I was impressed so much, that I begged, well no, I hinted around to a friend of mine that a great belated birthday gift would be tickets to his upcoming concert in Annapolis, MD. So I’ll get to see ‘Slickback’ in person, in all of his glory. But until then, the new video for his first single, “Sanctuary”, premiered yesterday.

Have a great weekend!

I have never been a fan of Terrence. In fact, I’ve been seeing his single posted all over the internet and I just skip right over it. Maybe I should at least give him a try…maybe…

Hey chica! Happy Friday. I’ve felt the same way as you and Fresh. Enjoy his acting but wouldn’t consider myself a fan (maybe because he reminds me of one of my slick a*s uncles…lol). I’ll definitely check out his music. Have a great weekend!

Ok, I gave it a shot to look at the video I’m not really feeling the video I feel as if I just wasted 4 min 49 secs that I can’t get back. I’m still undecided on the song I think its funny how a lot of actors are trying to be singers and vice versa.

I didn’t know that he had a soft side to him ’cause he’s been stereotyped as a “killer pimp” type. Quite lovely to see another side.

Well I do appreciate him as an actor. I don’t know if I’m feeling his music though. I’ll give it another listen.

Live music is always a beautiful thing. Its gonna take me a minute to get use to his sound though. I will need to hear some of the other songs on the album to really know if I like his music.
