Folks are taking to the Instagram Open Letter trend like moths to a flame and Tyrese, who has spoken out about various topics (usually in the form of a video posted to Facebook), recently took to IG to express his feelings on controversial Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump’s recent statements on Muslims. Among a slew of outrageous plans to keep Muslims out of the US, Trump told Yahoo News he would consider requiring Muslim Americans to register with a government database or mandating that they carry special identification cards that note their faith.
“You’ve offended my #Muslim community, and created racial boundaries and set my people up for hate crimes and to be targeted for bigotry because of the “acts” of some,” Tyrese wrote. “Islam is PEACE….. THE ACTS OF SOME of ANY GROUP doesn’t justify you spreading hate towards ALL of my people in the Muslim and or Arab community…. I’m deeply hurt and bothered by your antics and hatred towards my Muslim and Arab people.”
Tyrese continued saying, “This is for sure the most narcissistic self and family sabotage filled presidential campaign I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime.” The singer/actor also goes on to show his distaste for Trump’s hurtful words filled with discrimination, showing hope that “the real people of America” will show up and stop him on voting day.

I for one would like to pin a letter to Tyrese and explaining a couple of things to him.
But yeah, I guess that was nice of him.
But yea Trump is a white supremacist. If it’s not white it’s not right.
“…carry special identification cards that note their faith.”
WHAT? Doing exactly what Hitler did to the Jewish. He wants this to be a communist country.

For years, we have to deal with evil people who promote bigotry and intolerance. Donald Trump is the representation of that bigotry and hatred. Trump’s evil precepts aren’t new. White supremacists and far right extremists readily love many of the ideologies of Trump. We see an increase of hate crimes against Muslims in the United States of America. That is not right. A New York middle school student wearing a hijab was assaulted by three fellow students who called her “ISIS” and tried to rip off her hijab as they punched her. We see many folks who want to scapegoat everyone in a religion or in a race for the economic and political problems in America. That isn’t right either. So, Donald Trump’s ideas are repulsive, but they aren’t embraced by all people of America. There are still many Americans who believe in equality, who reject xenophobia (as the words of Ezra Lazarus ring true then during the 19th century and today in the 21st century), and who want racial justice. Donald Trump is explicitly clear in his extremism.
He desires no increase of the minimum wage. He has made many sexist remarks. He said that a black man (who is a BLM activist) deserves to be beaten in a Trump rally. Donald Trump believes that all Muslims overseas shouldn’t come into America. Trump is silent about the epidemic of police terrorism domestically and Western imperialism overseas. He refuses to expose the War on Drugs and how it has harmed the lives of many black people. Trump’s narcissism is off the chain. Therefore, we know what we are up against. We are against racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and any injustice. For our Muslim Brothers and Sisters: We will always defend your human rights. We believe in black liberation and we will fight for it courageously and without compromise.

Well said and the funny thing is, half of Americans agree with this racist.
December 29, 2015 -
I agree with you. We will continue to proclaim the truth. The views of that racist Trump will not prevail in the end.

Shut up tyboy.

this article made me think about something i read way back in the day: before slavery ended in this country, in some states, free black people were required to carry papers, and some had to wear badges, to prove they were not slaves. if they did not have papers, they were forced into slavery. i also remember reading that black south africans had to carry something called a passbook during apartheid. this history should not be repeated.
December 29, 2015 -
Great Points.
Many black people were kidnapped from the North in America to be forcibly enslaved in the South. South Africa did had those apartheid laws. That is why many black South Africans back then protested the pass laws. The Sharpeville Massacre in 1960 was about racist cops killing black men, women, and children who were protesting the pass laws. We should never have a repeat of such laws in America, South Africa, or in any place on Earth.

so very sad and so very true. i also read that free black people in this country were sometimes also threatened with ‘deportation’ if they were viewed as a ‘threat .’ ‘deportation’ could mean being sent to other southern states and/or back to africa . sometimes history is very painful.
December 29, 2015 -
You’re right. Slavery has a long painful history. Many Northern free black people were readily kidnapped from Northern cities by racists and sent to the South as slaves. 12 Years a Slave deals with such a story.

it was a sad, but eye opening, movie. a book written by edward baptist entitled ‘the half has never been told’ paints a very disturbing picture of slavery. there is a part that deals with the so-called deportation/migration of slaves. another interesting view of deportation is found in a book entitled ‘deportation nation – outsiders in american history ‘ written by dan kanstroom that mentions fugitive slave laws and deportation.

Think Solomon Northrup.

Exactly Sister. That is why it is important to understand the history of the Underground Railroad since the Underground Railroad was made up of heroes who opposed unjust laws, so that slavery would be abolished in American soil.

Trump is trying to bring back the days of Hitler.
December 30, 2015 -
sadly we are already there, the new political correctness has brought us back to the days of Hitler, think about it and most of us have naively embraced it and co signed onto it.
