Rich White Couple Wanted For Welfare Fraud

Hey GOP,

You know those people you’re always talking about when it comes to welfare fraud and mooching off the government? Well, ironically, this couple looks just like you.

Colin A.J. Chisholm and Andrea Lynne Chisholm, of Deephaven, Minnesota, are wanted for bilking the state government out of $167,420 in fraudulent medical and food-stamp claims from 2005 to 2012.

The Chisholms purported themselves as a poor couple barely making ends meet and only had $80 to their name.  But what they failed to mention  was the  $1.2 million yacht docked in Florida, or the $1.6 million house they rented on Lake Minnetonka. And a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pedigree breeding business that produced an award-winning dog at the Westminster dog show. And they some how managed to hide  about $3 million in various bank accounts.

From The Star Tribune:

“These were rich folks ripping off the system,” said Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, whose tone moved from humor to anger during Friday’s news conference. “I will make sure they do hard time.”

That’s if the police can find them. The Chisholms have been on the lam for six weeks, and Freeman hinted that they may be out of state and someplace warm.

Medical insurance fraud investigators suspected things were amiss when they learned the couple lived in a luxury lakeside home in Deephaven and that Colin Chisholm portrayed himself as a Scottish aristocrat who was a wealthy executive in the broadcasting industry.

Medical found that part of the $60,000 medical claims the company had paid out went for massages at The Marsh wellness center and spa in Minnetonka, court documents said. They received benefits from Minnesota even when they lived in Florida for two years, where they also obtained welfare checks.

The Chisholms were cut off at one point, but managed to get back into the system, Freeman said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the Chisholms, who vacated their Deephaven home with no notice to the landlord and withdrew their son from school.

If they are found and convicted they face 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

“I can’t imagine a judge in this district allowing the Lord and Lady to get probation,” Freeman said.

Damn that GOP for saying African Americans always mooching off the system! Look in the mirror and see that you are the culprit. Hell, I even drive down the street and see White folks hop into their BMWs and Mercedes after they have had “will work for food” cardboard signs up. A mess!

They are too worried some poor will get an extra $100 a month in SNAP benefits to catch real thieves.

This happens all the time. I remember I work with a girl who told me her mother was married to a doctor and still getting public assistance. I guess this will be an episode of American Greed: The Fugitives.

You know that this couple is not the only couple guilty of this. They just happened to get caught.

The medical insurance people need to tighten up. It took them this long to figure out that they were getting massages, but they nickel and dime us middle class people over actual medical needs, i.e. They are trying to block people from visiting the emergency room and are now pushing you to minor med facilities or pushing you to get nursing recommendations over the phone

How about these medical insurance companies hire 2,000 or 3,000 people to double check claims for this sort of fraud? Kill two birds with one stone:
    1. Greatly reduce medical claim fraud
    2. Reduce the unemployment rate

Hmm guess the GOP doesn’t know that the vast majority of government assistant goes to the region of Appalachia.

    Food stamps
Affirmative action (which was created to stop the “Good Ole Boy Network”)
Voting Rights Act (sum it up in an acronym, KKK)

All of these things say reverse racism to the GOP/TEA PARTY!

It is so hilarious to me when I see articles such as these that go against so many White folks worldview. I googled this article to find out a bit more regarding the story, and noticed something very interesting…most articles concerning this story had zero comments…or MAYBE one or two, tops.

It is funny…..When the headlines read “Black mother receives 2 years due to Welfare abuse”, there are at least 40-60 comments within a day by people handwringing, analyzing the “dysfunctions” among the “poor colored”, exclaiming how behavior like this is “typical”, and just overall expressing negative opinions.

However, on the various sites regarding THIS subject, even when it advises that the article was posted 3-4 days ago, there are just NO comments. Funny how folks who have SO much to say when things like this occur with Black folks are incredibly quiet when it turns out that their own are guilty of the same things. One of the TWO comments on one article actually……blamed Obama and “his lax welfare codes and requirements”. SMH.

    So telling.

This couple are stupid AND very greedy. That’s okay, they’ll get what’s coming to them. If the law doesn’t do it, God will in their afterlife. I wouldn’t want to be them or even know them. I refuse to hang around that sort of sub-human activity. There isn’t much worse than greedy people, especially when they’re already rich and are happy to take it out of the mouths of whichever legitimate poor soul(s) who should have gotten it. I hope they end up in prison for at least 10 years and they should have to payback the Welfare Deptartment every dime they stole. Grrr! I wanna slap some sense into these two thieves!

    @ G
I am off topic but could you tell me if the supreme court has finally validated the end of the voting rights act? I recently had to write on that subject during an exam. It was about the legacy of the civil rigths movement being endangered in the US. My exam also mentionned the death of trayvon martin. Was there a debate in the US concerning the voting rights act?

This is the first I’ve seen or heard about the rich white couple…wow, the reality that not all “rich” white folk are honest comes as such a surprise – who would have thought that…..

This isn’t their fault. The Chisholms are obviously suffering from affluenza. They should be welcomed home and referred to a counselor.

Thank you for giving me a good laugh this morning. Now, we both know that they will never see the inside of a jail cell or probably pay back a dime.

They will use all of the money the stole to finance an excellent legal team!
