President Obama Gives His Last State of the Union Speech Tonight, Will You Be Tuning In?

I don’t know about you, but as soon as 2016 hit, I started to go into mourning. In just about a year, the Obamas will bid adieu to the White House, meaning the free world’s first family will no longer be gorgeous and BLACK.

Every time President Obama does something absolutely cute, like treating a pair of young Black boys to the best selfie ever.

Or hugs a little Black girl like this:

I get the sads, because who knows how long it will be before we get another president who can challenge folks to pop off if they want while discussing the intricacies of global issues.

Tonight, President Obama will put on his freshest suit and lay out the vision for his remaining year in office during his final State of the Union address.

Though most presidents typically spend their final year in office with a terrible case of senioritis, President Obama has repeatedly said he plans to “leave it all on the field” and work his hardest for the American people until the next president takes office.

Because the challenges facing of the country are great–terrorism, the economy, criminal justice reform, the environment–hearing President Obama’s plan for his final year in office and his vision for the future will be quite interesting.

I’ll be tuning in to tonight’s State of the Union address, will you?

i know, it was getting teary eyed because he’s been to HE** & back again thanks to GOP. they fought him on everything he was trying to get pushed through.

I swear, when they kept panning the audience and some of those old racists weren’t clapping looking mean/upset, and like they didn’t wanna be there. I said enough, I can’t watch anymore.

I will keep it real. I took a nap when the speech came on. I’m looking at the commentaries on political TV networks about it now. I wish I could watch his speech live. The President has always been a great orator. To be fair, the Union is filled with strengths and weaknesses.

It made me a little sad I didn’t agree with a lot of his decisions but I think he did the best job he could do. Congress was no help they fought him and were uncooperative. I wish the Obama family a wonderful life after the White House.

you and me both, i want them to have peace and just get on with their lives, it’s been a hella 8 years under the heavy glare of the spotlight/heavy criticism, he could never please anyone, no matter what he did. The right made him out to be a villain and so many people have turned on him, it’s truly sad. My heart goes out to him. But he handled it all (the good & bad) with such grace & dignity.
