James Larry Cosby, Father Of Texas Lesbian, Arrested In Connection With Alleged Murder Of Daughter, Girlfriend

Earlier this week we reported on the murders of Britney Cosby, and her girlfriend Crystal Jackson, both 24, in Galveston, Texas.  In what is a horrible turn of events, police have arrested James Larry Cosby, 46, Britney’s father in connection to the murders.  Crosby is currently being held in the Galveston County Jail on a total of $500,000.00 bond.

According to the  Galveston County Sheriff’s Office the alleged murders of both women look like they took place in James’ home. Britney Cosby reportedly died from blunt force trauma, while Crystal Jackson was shot, according to the news channel.

Ironically,  James Cosby spoke to a news crew about his daughter’s death. “You can’t really put something like this into words,” he said at the time.

Earlier this week, a beer deliveryman discovered the bodies of Britney Cosby and Jackson next to a dumpster outside of the Fisherman’s Cove store in Port Bolivar, Texas. Deputies say the woman were involved in a romantic relationship and had traveled to Galveston to celebrate Mardi Gras.

Jackson was a mother to a five-year-old girl, according to reports.

“Just come forward, just to give us closure as a family,” McDade Cosby, Britney’s sister, told KTRK at the time. “Just come forward, because we need closure at this point.”

If he really did do this then I wonder why. Why would he kill his own daughter and her partner? It could be that he didn’t approve of the relationship but I really just don’t believe that.

This is Texas we are talking about. James Larry Cosby would not be the first person framed there. A few years back, a white man was executed on what turned out to be false evidence for killings his young daughters. I am curious about the evidence the police in Galveston have.

      ^^Talk about denial!

The fact that one was beaten while the other one was shot is very telling. I used to work in law enforcement and criminal justice. This crime reeks of PERSONAL connection. The one that was beaten more than likely knew the murderer. If I had to guess the one that was shot was simply trying to defend her girlfriend.

All I said was that I was curious about the evidence. Texas has a pretty bad record of prosecutorial misconduct. Sometimes they take the easy route and go for the low hanging fruit. If the case against this man is strong, fine.

Asking about the evidence does not mean I am on the side of anything but the truth.

It is being reported that the father covered up evidence is that not enough proof that this man had something to hide or at the very least had something to do with the crime?

If the crime took place in his home I’m guessing he tried to cover up the blood and body matter.

Texas or not, I doubt that type of evidence was planted in his home.

If anything, I am guilty of quickly reading through the article before I posted. I missed a few things about the evidence.

I am not someone who makes excuses for murder or domestic violence.

This comment is just all kinds of awful. Why is it that whenever Black women and girls are harmed there has to be all kinds of proof?

I live here in the Houston area, and the news is reporting that he and his wife separated because he is so radical and has serious anger issues. They also reported that Quanell X stated that a Q’uran (sp?) was found opened to a place speaking against homosexuality. It is said that he was very vocal about his distaste and hatred of his daughter’s lifestyle. People stop believing all the negative things you hear about a place. Black people do horrible things just like everyone else does. It is awful that he couldn’t just disown her if that is the case instead of kill her. It won’t change anything–as a matter of fact it made things way worse.

Also, they found blood stains on the carpet in several rooms in the home. So, there is possible proof.

I never said I thought the man was innocent. I said that Texas has a history of prosecutorial misconduct, and that I was curious about the evidence. The evidence is looking strong against from what I can see.

He wasn’t married, in fact, he hadn’t been married. He dated my mother for over 9 years and he wasn’t a violent or hateful person. He is very intelligent, speaks multiple languages fluently. He is still very much a part of our family, and we still love him dearly as well as spoke with him up until the time of arrest. Our heart is broken and we just want real answers.

Sad, murders his own child and then dumps her body and that of her partner like they were trash, this should have the added charge of a hate crime.
