Despite His Miss Universe Mix-Up, Belize Really Wants Steve Harvey to Host Its Next Pageant

Steve Harvey may have embarrassed himself during Sunday night’s Miss Universe pageant–and ruined Miss Colombia’s life–when he mistakenly crowned the South American beauty as this year’s winner, but apparently pageant officials might be willing to give the comedian a second chance.

Tuesday morning, Mark Shapiro, Chief Content Officer at WME|IMG–one of Hollywood’s biggest agencies–said Harvey was “absolutely” in the running to hose the 2016 Miss Universe  back pageant.

“He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. … I definitely want him back,” Shapiro said on Jim Rome’s CBS Sports Radio show. “I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”

Shapiro isn’t the only one still in love with Harvey. The tourism board of Belize publicly announced their support for the Family Feud host, and even asked him to host their nation’s super popular Costa Maya Festival pageant next year.

I guess studying Philippians really paid off for Harvey.

Did people really expect his career to be over because of his little faux paux? Come on, it wasn’t that serious. Life goes on.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he was asked to host this event again or another mainstream event. I am not a Harvey fan but like I said in the other post, this faux pas was embarrassing but it wasn’t that serious or this big of a deal like some people were making it out.

It appears that this situation has not massively stifled his career.

I’m not surprised at this at all. If it weren’t for Steve Harvey’s slip up, most people wouldn’t have even known the Miss Universe pageant was going on. Of course he’s coming back.
