Daniel Holtzclaw, the former Oklahoma City police officer accused of sexually assaulting 13 women while on duty, will soon hear a verdict in his trial. Holtzclaw is charged with 36 counts of rape and could possibly face life in prison.
During Tuesday’s court proceedings, Assistant District Attorney Lori McConnell said that he his power to prey on women.
“He was sexually stimulated by using his power to make them show their private parts to him,” McConnell said.
McConnell said Holtzclaw targeted women no one cared about. From women with records, to drug addicts. And used intimidation tactics to get what he wanted and to be assured they wouldn’t go to authorities.
“Officer Holtzclaw counted on that,” McConnell told jurors. “Officer Holtzclaw is heady from these powers. He gets even bolder. What he starts doing is taking whatever he wants.”
13 women who testified in the trial said they were either stopped and searched for warrants or to see if they were carrying drug paraphernalia, and it was then he raped them.
“Who will believe these women, and who will care?,” McConnell said was his attitude.
The jury went into deliberation on Monday, and we’ll update this post when they reach a verdict.

This could really go either way.You would think this wouldn’t take too much deliberating.

Yep, the idea that white people have so much anti blackness that they would let this cretin get off light is disturbing to think about.

I think I’d fall over from shock if they cretin went to prison. I’m hoping those jurors consider what he did and will rule accordingly.

I hope that he will be convicted. He violated the human rights and autonomy of black women. Hotlzclaw is a barbarian and she should have accountability.

I believe they were mostly women of color. Therefore, the sentence will be light.

He looks inbred…an inbred American…but not too inbred that he didn’t know who to prey on…those poor women.

My usual Debbie Downer self tells me to hope for the best but expect the worst. I just hope this isn’t yet another example of the fact that white juries almost never convict white folks for crimes against Black people.
