Atlanta School Shooter’s Brother Upset About Obama’s Phone Call To Antoinette Tuff

A week ago today, Michael Brandon Hill’s attempted acts of terrorism on a Georgia elementary school were thwarted by Antoinette Tuff, the school’s bookkeeper. Hill entered the school with 500 rounds and an AK-47 with the intent on leaving mass casualties, including himself. While on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, Tuff was able to diffuse the situation and talk Hill into dropping his weapons and turning himself in.

In all sense of the word, Tuff is a hero.

Hill’s history of mental illness and previous run-ins with the law were immediately unveiled. At an early age, Hill was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Hill’s brother, Timothy, recently appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight and discussed growing up with the alleged shooter. From being on the receiving end of threats from his brother, a house being set on fire, and seeing his brother involuntarily committed 10 times, Timothy doesn’t exactly think the system failed his family, but thinks it could have done much more.

Timothy isn’t pleased with attention President Obama has given Tuff. While sitting in the green room waiting for his segment, Timothy watched a clip of Anderson Cooper 360 and got agitated when he learned Tuff received a thank-you call from Obama. Piers Morgan decided to call him out on that and wanted to know what angered him. “I’m pretty sure she’s been thanked by 100s and 100s of people,” he said.  I honestly did not see it necessary for President Obama to call her up when he could have been focusing more on what could be done to prevent things like this.”

Maybe Timothy hasn’t heard of this little health care act that’s been talked about for the last two years? Or the fact that mental health is a huge part of the Health Care Act. In any event, maybe he should be a little more congratulatory, if it wasn’t for Tuff, his brother would be one of two things a) dead  b) facing a lot more charges than he is now.  The 5 minute phone call made by Obama was deserving, and I’m sure didn’t impede on the President’s decision making time.

I Know! I’m surpised that the number of assassination attempts are so few or less reported on I should say.

It’s just like folks READ a history book! TAKE a civics class! Go visit your state capital or the website and see what is REALLY going on instead of thinking yes he’s the ‘leader’ of the free world so he makes up all the rules and is the blame for the black hole that’s only 100 million or whatever years old…ugh…

Look at your state reps, congress people LOCAL lawmakers (alderpersons, mayors, etc). Stop looking the the color of the man’s skin and start looking at the character of your reps and yourselves and the content of laws that they want to pass…

        Such nonesense…

This ish is ridiculous! “Black Twitter” and the rest of us need to contact these outlets and tell them the shine needs to be on the heroine, and not this would-be killer’s family

How about interview Mrs. Tuff’s family – her parents, husband, siblings & children (if she has any). Her friends. So we can hear more of the phenomenal woman she is.
Piers Morgan wasted an interview…however w/o the interview, we would not have known the dysfunction that is w/in this family.

It’s annoying how people nit-pick at everything the President does. I pretty sure he wouldn’t have a problem if a past President had done it. He should be worried less about the phone call, more about his brother and his criminal situation.

“It’s annoying how people nit-pick at everything the President does.”

No, it’s annoying how people nit-pick everything the president does because he is black. As a democracy, there is absolutely nothing wrong with us nit-picking, giving critiques, questioning or voicing our opinions to ANY POTUS.

The problem here is that because Obama is black, racists have come out of hiding over the past 5 years. I swear racial tension has been higher during his presidency than any other time in the past 2 decades. All the animosity white people have had for blacks has risen to the surface to stare us in the face.

I was wondering when Clutch was going to write about this.

I saw the interview when it first aired on Piers Morgan and it was cringe worthy.

It was like the brother just couldn’t acknowledge Ms. Tuff’s heroism at all.

And he got mad at Obama for calling her and thanking her?! You wanted Obama to call you instead??????

  10. August 27, 2013 - Reply

This guy needs to shut the f*ck up flapping his gums about what the POTUS should and shouldn’t be doing. Better yet, he needs to pick up the phone and call Antoinette to thank her for potentially saving his brothers life as well as the life of hundreds of students, teachers and police officers. These white people stay mad for no damn reason.

Are they actually listening to the proposals?

Antoinette Huff is hated by the right wing. I’m glad the President called her and I’m glad he’s invited her to the White House. She’s a true American hero. Something the right wing in this country has never produced. And the fact that she’s a black woman who lives and truly walks in the faith those crackers like to talk about but don’t ever live up to, pisses them off to no end.

This shooter’s brother ought to be hiding his head in shame instead of making nasty remarks about who should or shouldn’t be congratulating the woman who stopped his monstrous brother from killing a school full of kids.

  18. August 27, 2013 - Reply

She not only deserved a phone call from the President, but a hand-written letter from every parent and teacher in that school! Maybe even have the school named after her. She prevented another Newtown, while you were doing what, making more excuses for your brother?

  19. August 27, 2013 - Reply

    @Natalie B

I’ve read stories about ordinary people who have done heroic actions. A lot of them admitted that they felt uncomfortable with the “spotlight” on them. Ms. Tuff might feel the same way.

In regards to Timothy Hill’s statements…
There is this thing called ‘personal responsibility’. And if his brother wasn’t able to take care of himself, his parents should’ve gotten involved. It isn’t the state’s (government’s) responsibility to make sure that his brother was taking his meds, attending psych sessions, etc.

  20. August 27, 2013 - Reply

And ya’ll notice Jethro didn’t say anything about gun control and the fact that his brother could get his hands on an assault rifle and 500 rounds of ammo, instead he focuses his faux rage at the lack of mental health care in this country, and now that’s Obama’s fault.

This is another strategy being used by these people–deny their violent, self entitled nature and find someone to blame for it. The elections of Obama have stirred up new levels of hatred in this country with people like this goober.

  21. August 27, 2013 - Reply

Who cares if this guy got mad. Maybe he should have dedicated more time to helping his clearly disturbed brother.

Hell, he should be thanking Tuff too, for talking his brother down and getting him to turn himself in before he killed a bunch of people and himself.

This is going to sound really weird and crazy…
But I really believe that the Lord was really working over-time on that day. Here’s why…
I have watched a few news segments about this incident. In almost all of them, they showed parents reuniting with their children, after they were released from the school building.
The first thing that I noticed was the majority of the students were black.
Now, if that man did act his original plans, I believe that this country would’ve been in some serious sh*t right now.

LOL then stay mad! I swear the president can’t win for losing. If he DIDN’T thank and acknowledge her actions (especially since Sandy Hook is still fresh in this country’s mind) people would be upset but when he did acknowledge and thank her he is wrong and should be doing more….which one is it? I swear this guy is like the typical white person in this country now, angry at the wrong things for NO reason. I find it funny that he thinks the president should do more to prevent things like this but negates the fact that HE and their entire family had more power in the situation to negate this guy’s act/behavior especially since they witness some of it firsthand. I am pretty sure he secretly thinks that Mrs. Tuff isn’t a hero and doesn’t deserve accolades. A phone call and congratulating and thanking someone for heroic acts/action is not far off from what a president does agenda wise genius nor does it takes that much time. People like him want the privilege but not the self-accountability or self-responsibility that comes with it. Lastly, blaming the president for the breakdown in mental health facilities and institutions is a joke, sadly these MUCH NEEDED institutions are on a downward spiral and shutting down left and right was happening way before he was in office so this guy needs not to look any further than his local politicians and governor especially if it is an republican governor.

You mean like being upset that Obama is MURDERING innocent civilians in foreign countries with Drones? Or going to war without Congressional approval? Or that he bows before je wish world leaders?
Or the fact that he and his family have spent more TAXPAYER money on VACATIONS?

He is supporting AL QAEDA – you do know that right? The “rebels” in Libya and Syria are ALL connected to the very people were supposed to be fighting against.
That means that Obama is a TRAITOR, he is working with the ENEMY.
Impeachment doesn’t even suffice what should happen to him. And yes, Bush, Cheney, etc, etc, etc (and especially their “administration officials) should all be tried and hanged – that includes all of the je ws that have been helping take down this country. Let’s start with the ILLEGAL PRIVATE FEDERAL RESERVE owners and board members.
