“Affluenza” Teen May Be On The Lam With Mother

Ethan Couch and his mother are both missing, and authorities think they may be on the lam.

Couch, who received 10 years of probation after killing four people in a drunk-driving incident when he was 16, was found to be in violation of his probation when a video was released of him playing beer pong, as well as missing a check in with his probation officer this month.

Tarrant County’s sheriff had a few words for Couch.

“You can run, but you’re always going to be looking over your shoulder,” Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said Thursday. “We’re not going to give up. We’re going to come after you. We’re going to find you, wherever you are.”

Anderson told CNN’s “AC360” he’s worried Couch and his mother could have fled the United States.

“They have the money. They have the ability to disappear, and I’m fearing that they have gone a long way and may even be out of the country,” he said.

When he’s apprehended Couch could face up to 10 years of incarceration for the probation violation.

    Now they wanna talk big AFTER they let a murderer walk. Eye roll.

    I hope that the murderer is captured. His arrogance is toxic. Also, we have to end the classist lie that the more wealth someone has, the more integrity a person has. This story proves that precept to be a myth. For that murderer to shed innocent blood and to gloat about it shows how callous many people are. There is the double standard here. If a black people did what he did, they wouldn’t classify the black person’s actions as “affleuenza.” They would classify the actions in other terminology. At the end of the day, we want the authorities to send that murderer back into prison.

      Preach Brotha! this angers me to no avail. Had this been anyone non-white, they would have had to pay, why did he get off? Being white i suppose! What a shame to the families of the victims that he’s on the lamb. That’s what they get (prosecutorial system), they should have held him more accountable while they had him in their grasp!

        For some in the media to minimize what this murderer has done is tragic too. This person killed innocent human beings. Sometimes, the prosecution acts more luke defense attornies than protectors of the status quo than justice.

      Or better yet it’s the pathology of the culture and lack people need to take responsibility.

      Imagone this a poor black or brown kid whose parents had a criminal record and then their child committed a crime. What would we be hearing.

      • December 21, 2015 - Reply

        @Gc

        We would be hearing something completely different from the media. The Western society have many double standards based on race, class, gender, etc. We live in a very racist, classist, and sexist society.

    Everyone keeps talking to the sheriff but the police were the ones who caught the boy and turned him in to be put on trial. I need the media to find the judge who insisted that this white boy could not swing it in jail after mowing down innocent people in a drunken stupor. That is the voice that I want to hear. I want to know how he feels now knowing that his actions led to the families of this boy’s victims to be robbed of justice. How can you justify your actions now?

    • December 19, 2015 - Reply

      @elle

      Agreed, that judge needs to stand before the press and explain everything that lead up to the injustice of his decisions.

      The judge that let him off with probation made me angry. This over entitled ass got away with murder and it just boggles my mind how the judge could rule like this.

        Now let’s be honest, he didn’t get a way with murder it was negligent homicide. There was no malice behind his actions.

        George Zimmerman got away with murder.

          Malice or not, 4 people are dead. I’m sure the families of those 4 want justice and none was served. BTW, he did get away with murder. I can’t help but noticed he’s free and on the run.

    This man (not boy) stole beer from a store, stole his father’s truck, got drunk/high and ran over and killed 4 people! 2 yrs later, the yellow-haired spoiled brat violates probation and disappears with his mother. The US Marshall, the FBI and even Interpol are searching for these two.
    My point is, if justice had prevailed as it should have, this murderer would be serving time in prison, there would be no need for a nationwide manhunt and most importantly, the victim’s families would have some degree of closure.
    A man lost his wife and daughter because of this BS, where is the justice for him? (rhetorical)

          Right. That is why the FBI is working with Interpol in trying to get them. The mother of the murderer could be charged with harboring a fugitive also.

            She already has a criminal record anyway.

            I’m just waiting for the media to start debating the pathology and criminality of rich white kids in the suburbs.

            (I’ve seen it first hand going to school with those types.)

            • December 21, 2015 - Reply

              @Gc

              The mainstream media definitely will not report on the criminality of rich white kids in an in depth level or the criminality of many whites in general (in a serious fashion). The white male is a person with arrogance and he has disrespected the victims’ families with his evil actions. I have no respect for cowardly white people who escape an hearing after they have killed innocent human lives. Many people in the media obsess with black people as a means for them to demonize black people unfairly. Yes, she has a criminal record. I hope that both the young male (not man since that person is not a real man) and his mother are found and experience accountability plus justice.

    Ethan Couch is an arrogant prick I hope he gets what is coming to him. Him and his mother and the judge who let him off are disgusting. This incident is pretty insightful about economic social class. Because he’s rich he gets let off the hook.

    I’m not going to lie if something terrible should happened and they end up in dangerous predicament, I would not care. His mother is a piece of trash and by her protecting her “baby” she contributed to his entitled ways and coddling him is not going to do shit. I hope if they find him he gets life without parole or maybe that nice death penalty Texas likes to use on those who are to poor or too minority to fight back. I’m sorry he killed four people and injured others, that should weigh on your mind so much you suffer mentally. Also the mother should be arrested. This whole case is white rich stinking privilege and he should have had a harsher sentence. He was lucky he was born white and rich and could afford a dumbass Lawyer with no conscious. Boy if he did not have any of that, he would be given the death penalty or life. I do not believe in execution but some people need it and maybe it will deter some other rich assholes, then again what would be to much reality for the justice system. I hope they find you white fuckboy and your white mayo noodled mother. Like I have no chill with the boy he has no fucking remorse and sometime it has to be an eye for an eye.

          Material things don’t make for successful person, and chances are what he has was given to him and he’s never had to work for it.

          People like him tend to have a warped view of how the world works and fail to understand the world doesn’t revolve around them.

          Leading tian entitlement mentality and when they don’t get what they feel they’re entitled to they lash out.

          So I wouldn’t say he’s very privileged. Like Tim Wise said the very thing that is an advantage to white folks can also disadvantage them in other ways.

    now we all are happy and rejoicing that a white boy is in trouble however the way I look at it is there is a lesson to be learned here, this is a teachable moment here and that is whether the child or family is black or white, rich or poor if parents don’t be responsible and raise, guide and discipline their offspring it’s a good chance they will turn out to be a mess and make the parents life a living hell.
