20,000 People Rallied During Glenn Beck’s ‘All Lives Matter’ Protest in Birmingham

Glenn Beck and 20,000 of his besties, rallied over the weekend in Birmingham, Alabama to proclaim that “All Lives Matter”. And it wasn’t just white people. Beck found ‘those kind of black people’ who had no problem marching alongside his racist ass.

Everyone from Chuck Norris, to Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., marched with Beck. There was even a black church choir who sung about “All lives mattering.”

Beck teamed up with Bishop Jim Lowe of The Guiding Light Church. Sunday Bishop Lowe said, “Today when we had our church service we had blacks and whites, we had Asians we had Hispanics, this is what church should look like. Church should be about people of God regardless of what they are on the outside.”

At the service Beck told everyone, “we have to be able to talk to each other, we have to be able to. We’re not that different from one another.”

Yeah, a church with Glenn Beck. A noted racist. Way to go.

    From the linked website:

“The march was part of Beck’s “Never Again is Now” campaign to raise awareness and funds to aid persecuted Christians in the Middle East.”

I don’t necessarily have a problem with the objective of this march, but I absolutely have a problem with folks continuing to water down the objective of BLACK LIVES MATTER with this all lives matter slogan, taking attention away from police brutality and furthing WASP agendas, that toe the line of racism (and in some cases completely destroys whatever line existed). If this march was about persecuted Christians, how does “all lives matter” convey that message?

In any event i am going to donate my little change to BLM this payday AND colorofchange, they are doing great work also.

          Hello Sister,

It’s truly disappointing to see some black people marching to the tune of an extremist like Glen Beck. Beck is the one who believe that Nazis were socialists when Nazis killed socialists in concentration camps and the Nazis privatized many public services. It is ironic that the marches claim to be about love, but they have express anger at the legitimate black grievance of opposition to extrajudicial murder of our Brothers and our Sister. The mentality of respectability politics is found among some black people nationwide. There are plenty of black people in the South who know what time it is. The Deacons of Defense and the Black Panther Party (which existed as a political party in 1965 in Mississippi) came from the South. Also, the extremist confuse what love means. Love is not about submission. Love is a goodwill force, but it is also demanding that social injustice end wherefore justice can be made into a reality.

You just taught me something again, I didn’t know the Black Panthers came from the South. I thought they originated in Oakland, CA. And yes to your definition of love–it’s not some turn the other cheek nonsense but demanding that your neighbor respect your rights as a human being. That is what my pastor teaches.

              @Vintage

Kwame Ture and other Black Panther Party members existed in 1965 in Mississippi as a political group (called Lowndes County Freedom Organization. This organization used the black panther as a logo). Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton created their Black Panther Chapter in Oakland in 1966. This is similar to Robert Wright (who was a famous black author) writing about Black Power in the 1950’s in his literature, but Black Power was popularized in the 1960’s. I agree with your views on Love. The old lie is that love is weak when love is a very strong force in the Universe in my view.

Not saying toms are exclusive to the South but damn.

I sincerely hope there are more Black people like you than what we see here. If the gun nuts knew about Black people defending ourselves like this, they would be trying to change the 2nd amendment with a quickness. I’m not mad at any Black person who chooses to carry one for the reasons you stated. I found out one person was a Palin supporter as a teen and then she changed her views and is more progressive (not a Palin supporter anymore as an adult). Her name is Marissa Jenae. I think that both women wanted their voices to be heard. People have the right to agree or disagree with their actions, but many folks have slandered the 2 women in vicious, misogynistic terms. You’re right that we have to be careful who we ally with. Glen Beck is laughing all the way to the bank because of his actions.

The past has moved into the present. They have the right to march and to speak their minds. There should be freedom of expression. I do disagree with Glen Beck’s agenda because of many reasons. Many conservative people fail to see that we have to address economic inequality, racial injustice, and police terrorism in order for us to be free. I don’t understand why some conservative people can’t see that. There are studies about this. Glen Beck is a reactionary extremist. He called the victims of the Katrina disaster “scum,” so I have no respect for him. Many human beings who promote the “All Lives Matter” movement obviously want to mock the power of the Black Lives Matter movement. Beck has been known to advance militarism and exploit the name of God for his reactionary purposes. Aiding Christians (or any human being regardless of creed) in the Middle East is fine, but having a spokesman like Glen Beck is not a good look for any endeavor. Too many people misinterpret the meaning and the mission of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Since when is “free speech” a “right”? Like many other “rights” – like the right to vote or live where you want to – it’s not a “right” available to everyone, it’s a “privilege” awarded to ONE group at the direct expense of the basic safety and quality of life of everyone else. Whites – liberal, radical, conservative, etc. – CLING to “free speech rights” to defend terrorist groups like the KKK marching through American towns, terrorizing people of African descent, when they wouldn’t EVER think to defend Al Qaeda, The Muslim Brotherhood, or ISIS marching through American towns, terrorizing THEIR white asses. Furthermore, the government would ship someone straight to Guantanamo Bay for even identifying as an ISIS member, but avowed KKK members and white nationalists get to openly run the streets like rabid dogs.

Racial abuse is a quality of life and safety issue that can lead to physical violence. There is no reason to find the simple phrase or idea of “Back lives matter “threatening” unless you’re an adherent of white supremacy. Why? Because the notion of Black lives mattering and being valuable enough to defend IS in fact a DIRECT threat to white supremacy. So I find it disgusting that what whites are really demanding is “the right” to be racist – essentially terrorizing and disrespecting the humanity of Black people. No one’s free speech rights trump my right to not be subjected to INTENTIONAL EMOTIONAL DISTRESS because white people feel like being SOCIOPATHIC bullies. Since free speech is generally privileged over the right to be free from racism, we are living in a terrorist state.

I agree with you with. In retrospect, I should have clarified my words better. Certainly, free speech should be never be used as a means for evil racists to harass or oppress black people. Free speech should definitely have limitations in its fundamental composition. The right of black people to be liberated should always trump the actions of racists who seek to deprive people of black African descent of their human rights. Glen Beck and his allies are wrong to misinterpret what the Black Lives Movement stands for as a way to advance a reactionary, racist agenda. Black people have every right to resist white racist terrorism. It is really ignorant for white racists to slander the BLM movement when Black Lives Matter is a legitimate concept. Many of these racists equate resistance to oppression as illegitimate when their ancestors used all sorts of methods to fight the British Empire. The actions of the Black Lives Matter movement are a legitimate expression of opposition to the aims of the system of white supremacy. It is true that Klan members and other white supremacists are not shipped overseas, but ISIS members are immediately shipped overseas or charged with felonies for affiliation with ISIS. Thank you for your commentaries.

Its a disgrace to see black people align themselves with this man, in Alabama where they lynched more black people than any other state, second only to Georgia! The only reason I found this so called blog is because I searched for the GB march. Who says he is racist, you? WTF have you done lately to bring races together? I’ll bet not a damn thing. He’s raising 10 million dollars to bring 400 minority Christian familes back from the middle east who are targeted for death by ISIS. The black lives matters are race baiting aholes with a chip on their shoulder, provoking violence which got a cop murdered this weekend, I hope your proud.

I dated a wonderful man, who was Arabic, his family migrated to this country, and started their own dress shop.. Just after september 11, they had their business vandalized, pummeled with rocks, and my ex, and his daughter was threatened… The cops did squat about it, i kept close ties with him and his family even after we separated, and his little girl, now grown, remained deeply affected by that experience.. Honestly, it opened my eyes to alot, it really just isn’t about one race, black, muslim or whatever, intolerance comes in different shades and it should all be recognize.. If we single our experiences out solely, how can anyone else relate to our cause, or care about it for that matter? Sure, we can rally as a people together , but how exactly is it going to reach enough people outside of our community, when they can’t possibly believe it would ever happen to them?

Everyone: this is the colonized mindset [i.e. internalized white supremacy] in practice. It’s a mental illness caused by white supremacy. This is why it’s important to teach your kids something other than faulty Aristotelian disjunctive “logic” and dichotomous Manichean “reasoning” – they end up being incapable of producing anything approaching comprehensive, intelligent thought. Their tactics and speech resemble mentally incompetent whites with fragmented, limited reasoning skills that we ALREADY deal with all day, everyday. Unless they ever choose to decolonize their minds, talking to these dumb fucks is LITERALLY like talking to a racist white troll in a (supposedly) Black body.

Whites have been the WORST threat to every TRULY civilized society on Earth for the last 500 years. For CENTURIES, they have been aggressive bloodthirsty savages to African people for no reason at all. Most of them still haven’t evolved
into CIVILIZED human beings yet, and their primitive, parasitic, anti-social racist attitudes and stereotypes are straight out of the 1700’s. They SHOULDN’T be “leading” a damn thing, they SHOULD be locked in cages. There is no excuse for the CENTURIES of their unnatural, revolting, anti-human white savagery. Instead of conducting obsessive and pathological levels of surveillance on Black people, they need to concentrate on FULL WHITE ATONEMENT, COMPENSATION, and RESTITUTION. Period.

Oh, so now you want “intelligent” conversation? Says the racist (see your previous comments)? Weird how you flip-flop like that – blanket-wide blind hate in one comment, then speaking like you’d like to have some sort of intelligent discourse in the next. I won’t respond again; you’re unreachable.
