Never Add Fuel To A Leo’s Fire

Sometimes I think being a Leo is a good thing, and occasionally it can be a bad thing. Nevertheless, I am your quintessential  Leo.
Here’s the good:

The Leo type is the most dominant, spontaneously creative and extrovert of all the zodiacal characters. In grandeur of manner, splendor of bearing and magnanimity of personality, they are the monarch’s among humans as the lion is king of beasts. They are ambitious, courageous, dominant, strong willed, positive, independent, self-confident there is no such a word as doubt in their vocabularies, and they are self-controlled. Born leaders, either in support of, or in revolt against, the status quo. They are at their most effective when in a position of command, their personal magnetism and innate courtesy of mind bringing out the best of loyalty from subordinates. They are uncomplicated, knowing exactly what they want and using all their energies, creativeness and resolution to get it, as well as being certain that they will get whatever they are after. Their followers know where they are with Leonians. Leonians think and act bigger than others would normally dare; the ambitiousness of their schemes and idealism sometimes daunt their followers, their practical hardheadedness and ability to go straight to the heart of any problem reassures those who depend on them. If Leonians meet with setbacks they thrive on the adversity.

The bad and sometimes ugly:

Their faults can be as large in scale as their virtues, and an excessively negative Leonian can be one of the most unpleasant human beings imaginable, displaying extreme arrogance, autocratic pride, haughtiness, and excessive hastiness of temper. If jealously suspicious of rivals, they will not hesitate to use cunning, lies and trickery to discredit them. Self-centeredness, greed for flattery, boastfulness, and bombast, pomposity, snobbish superiority, and overbearing, and intolerant disdain of underlings; to whom they will nevertheless delegate the carrying out of minor details in their grandiose schemes, and from whom they are not above borrowing immoderately if an occasion necessitates it. Any of these can be characteristic of Leo. Add to them a passion for luxury, a lust for power, unlimited sexual lust, and emotional indulgence, and a character emerges that no one would want to know either in public life or private. But their pride may go before a fall, as uncontrolled impetuosity is likely to bring them low. Fortunately it is rare that a Leo is so undisciplined as to give way thoroughly to this list of vices, and their tendencies to them are usually balanced by an innate wisdom. Those who are afflicted with them also have the intelligence it takes to consciously and actively overcome them. (courtesy of

Those who know me personally, have probably seen both sides of me, more than likely on several occasions. Even those who I hold the closest to my heart that include family members and others can attest to the above description. As fortunate or unfortunate as it is, I wear the good & bad traits of being a Leo proudly. It’s part of my essence.  Which brings me to the title of this post.

Never ignite a fire in a Leo that you can’t put out.  What starts out as something as small  as a stove’s pilot light, will eventually ignite and engulf into something monumental. Those around, will either get burnt in the process because they were the ones to add the fuel (usually negative), or encourage the engulfment because they realize only good things can come of the momentum. It’s up to them to choose which side they would rather be on.

Over the past several months, several things have added fuel to my fire. Embers that have been simmering are now fully ignited. The fuel that people have thrown my way, won’t be used to destroy, but to add momentum. I always believe even the most out of control & destructive fires, will bring forth something new, even though the typical pyromaniac’s intention,  whether it’s in the work environment (as it is in this case) or personal environment, was to destroy.

One of my favorite quotes is by philosopher, Albert Schweitzer:

“In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit”.

If you’re the type of person, regardless if you’re a Leo or not, and you constantly have pyromaniacs igniting fires around you, be thankful for them.  Sometimes a little fuel is needed to get certain things in motion.

Playing with fire is bad for those who burn themselves.  For the rest of us, it is a very great pleasure ~Unknown

Whew, chil'! My sister is a Leo and this is her to a tee. I know what pushes those buttons and try to stay away, although to see others get the wrath is quite entertaining….lol

Gonna see what they say about the lovely yet often explosive rams…:-)

I feel you. I've been getting LOTS of fuel thrown my way…and my spirit is indeed afire. I'm grateful for it, just as you said…because it was what I needed to remember how bright my flames burn. “Super powers are every day abilities magnified and harnessed” ~ Kiwi 😉

I'm a Leo too ( you know this) and folks just don't see to believe that what you said here is the truth until they are standing in the middle of the flames like lil' Drew Barrymore in “Fire Starter”. Oh well…sucks to be them.

Hi Fungke Blak Chik! Im a Sagittarian and I love pressing peoples buttons, but not just for the fun of it, (most of the time) but to make them think, if they're acting a little stupid. See, you could be my homegirl, because your flames wouldn't even burn me! I love hot fiyah! Cool post!

Aries/Leo/Sags…all fire signs. They say we're the only ones who can stand each other. And that button pressing thing you like sounds just LIKE Sagittarius behavior! Grrrr! My ex, my son & my dad…all Sags! I can't escape them! I love Aries though, especially an Aries man. *whew*

I love and know Leos well. I'd never tangle, spar or fight directly with a Leo. It is far wiser to disarm a Leo with a sincere compliment. There's lots to compliment them for and the first thing that comes to mind is their generosity. I'd rather have an enemy in common with a Leo than foolishly struggle to reduce a Leo to a common enemy.

shoutout to all my fellow leos! sorry but i truly feel we are the best because of the zodiac things you have posted above. they truly do describe us.

we are loyal yet will destroy you when crossed. i always say im the most evil open hearted person you will ever meet. i am passionate in all that i do. if i love, i give all my love and a leos love is most definitely the best. and if you cross me, trust me i already had ammunition prepared for that day lol….im always aware of ways to destroy people if they attempt to do the same to me. might seem petty to some, but i believe in karma…and sometimes karma is on vacation and i gotta take care of things myself lol.

so yes i feel you on the fuel thing. people have always crossed me…hence the reason why i have only had 3 friends my whole life…each of which ive only met in the past 3 years. (and i mean the real definition of friend…i dont use that word lightly). many a people have had to suffer my wrath…but before they suffered, i gave them all i had to give. and ive even had to cut my own father off (selfish backstabbing piece of sh*t). it is what it is. and i most definitely thank all of the people in my past who have helped me learn lessons in life….and therefore who have helped my grow because of those lessons. now i know what i dont allow in my life and that saves alot of time and energy.

I read a book by Donna Cunningham and she rightly believed that our culture is definitely solar powered and very masculine. Liz Greene another astrology found that with fire signs even their negative traits aren’t so bad compared to other signs, precisely because our society is heavily solar.
Fire people are envied because our society often models their energy, characterisitics and brand of luck.
So its good to be fire in the Western world, which is why they are often popular and admired.

My son is a Leo and is only 1 year old. I can already see his aggressive and confident nature coming out. He think he can do things that his 9 year old sister can do, but he is only 1. I’m wondering what it’s going to be like over the next couple of years. I’m hoping I’ve got an all-star on my hands.
