Modern Day Ambulance Chasers

Earlier today I was sent a link to Faces of Lawsuit Abuse and displayed on the front page were links to the craziest lawsuits of the month:

Just as crazy as each headline reads, the stories are even crazier.  After reading each story, the only common denominator that I could surmise that each of these stories shared, were the crazy people who filed these lawsuits, and the ambulance chasing attorneys who figure they can make a name for themselves just because a case may be unprecedented, even if it’s a load of bullshit.

Every morning during commercial breaks from the news (and on the google ads in the sidebar) there’s at least 3 commercials advertising injury, medical malpractice, social security attorneys, all claiming they could get you the settlement you deserve. Of course these are the attorneys that people raise an eyebrow to, but there are also attorneys like that in major law firms. They just happen to be types that line K St in DC and Lexington Ave in NYC. Just because they’re not inundating the airways, doesn’t mean they don’t have their fair share of batshit crazy clients and are looking to set precedent & make their pockets fatter.

Of course not all attorney’s are cheap suit wearing ambulance chasers, hell, some of my closest friends are attorneys, but there’s always exceptions to the rule. As long as there are batshit crazy lawsuit whores, there’s going to be attorneys out there willing to take on a case in attempt to make a name for themselves.

He should have added a fist pump to his ad.

    We live in an overly litigious society. People suing because hot coffee is too hot. It’s ridiculous.

      @Bassey

      I remember the woman who sued b/c of the hot coffee…I wonder if she would have sued if it was cold coffee…

    Hell, my grandfathers sister sued the executor of his estate (she couldnt contest the will or else she would have been disinherited). The basis of the suit: the executor wasnt “elite” enough. Yes, my grandfather’s sisters’ family was sooo socially prominent, and the executor wasnt, therefore he should not be allowed to settle my grandfathers estate.
    Yeah.
    The executor of the estate was so prominent, that my grandfathers sister had to go outside the Black community to find a lawyer to handle her case, lol.

    ROFL! So ridiculous.
    Commercials trying to lure folks who took Fen-Phen back in the day to sue for heart valve damage have started popping up again. During a few seconds of weakness, I seriously considered calling but snapped out of it…hee hee

    Remember that guy who sued Michael Jordan because he said his life was ruined because he looked so much like him? I think he sued for $500mil. Mind you this guy was about a foot shorter, about 15 years older and lived in Portland, OR. The case-surprise!-was dropped. At least he got on TV.
