Good Bye O-Eight

2009

This will not be a cliche of  ‘resolutions’ that I’m going to try to make but only stick to for one day.

I remember the first time in elementary school I was asked to write down my New Year Resolutions. I looked down at the yellow lined paper and back up at my teacher and wrote, “I resolve to not make any resolutions”. Needless to say, in red marker she wrote, “Try Again”. From that day on, I hated making resolutions and I still hate red marker.

2008 definitely had it’s interesting moments, to say the least. I’m not going to look back on the negativity that encompassed my year, although some of  it I willfully took part in. What I will say is that, when I look at the person I was then and the person I am now, I can see where I’ve made positive growth. I guess some positivity always come out of drama & negativity.

To keep this post succinct, I will say this, in 2009 I can only resolve:

“NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST THEE SHALL PROSPER.”

Isaiah 54:17

My favorite Fred Hammond song of all time!

Have a Safe NYE!

    Like you, I am not a “resolution” person at all. I am just looking to do what I do every other year – do me and the damn thing in 2009. It’s been a rough few years, so I feel and say that it can only get better. Have to let it do what it do.
    Happy New Year girlie. 🙂

    I haven’t made a resolution in YEARS! They don’t work…for ME. I just try to be more positive than the previous year…try to learn from my lessons. I love that song…I love Fred Hammond. *clapping like Mama Klump* LOL

    Resolutions, resoultions. I don’t know why a lot of us in society are pulled into the media’s way of making money through commercing this trend. But I will say that if you live your life to the fullest each and every day and set goals and make plans 365 days a year, your hard work and dedication will be rewarded.
    Happy New Year Mama.

    Happy New Year to you! 2008 has been a real b*tch for many of us in many ways, but I have hope and faith that 2009 will renew our confidence that things can get better.
    Yes, I have resolve…I don’t make resolutions any more. Those are just champagne wishes. (lol)

    Hey there F.B.C! {waves}
    {raised glass of sparkling cider}
    Here’s to another year of your fantastic writing!
    I really just wanted to drop by and bring “Happy New Year!” greetings!
    What could be more fitting than some advice and encouragement from God:
    “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
    Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
