Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart

I can honestly say I am not the most religious person out there, but I wouldn’t call myself a devout heathen either. As a kid, attending church was basically mandatory. I remember going from a Pentecostal, to a Baptist and then finally a Non-Denominational church. One of my favorite praise and worship songs will always be, “Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart”. Considering that tomorrow is Thanksgiving, it’s definitely apropos. Even if you aren’t religious or spiritual, everyone has things they are grateful/thankful of.

Every morning when I wake up, I’m mostly thankful that I wake up pain free, thanks to modern science and medicine. Although my family tends to drive me crazy at times, I’m thankful that we’re all in close proximity to each other, even thought at times it can still be a blessing and a curse. My son, although he’s only 9, is my rock. Sometimes I think he worries more about me, than I do about him. He’s my bodyguard, my confidant, my mini-me and for that I’m thankful to have the opportunity to be his mother. I’m thankful for my friends, who at times keep me grounded and have the ability to lift my spirits quite easily. Carla, Pele, Yashieka, Kali, Angie, Mikey, Mike, Donovan & Devone are definitely my DC & NYC area family. I wouldn’t trade these friends in for anything. HWSRN is one person who I hold close to my heart, even through the good, bad & hiatus periods. Last but not least, I’m thankful for YOU, the people who choose to read my blog, through my ups & downs, funny and serious posts.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, what are you most thankful for?

Have a Happy & Thankful Thanksgiving Thursday!

I am thankful for being here and making it to see another Thanksgiving season. This year has been really rocky, epecially with the economy and the closing of jobs. I was having a rocky time at the beginning of 2008 financially and really didn’t know if I was going to make it through this year without cracking my head. Thank God I was able to get up from rock bottom and work my way back up. I am thankful for those who have been there for me, my immediate family, close friends, the ladies of my motorcycle club, everyone who has had a positive influence. I am really grateful to be able to chat with my fellow bloggers, myspacers, twitters, and any other networking site (the list is too long to name).
I hope everyone have a safe, blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for my health, my family and good friends. A lot of you on here ARE a part of my family. I’m definitely touched to be named among those you hold dear…the same can be said for you, Doc. I can count so many blessings that I’ve been gifted with, but the most precious is that I awake everyday thankful for what I have. Remembering that life could be worse is always a reminder for gratitude.
