Friday Asides: I Need A Break, A Drink & A Salon!

I need a drink. Possibly 3 or 4. Vodka w/ pineapple or cranberry juice are my drinks of choice. I don’t sip, I just usually swallow them down in a few gulps. My tolerance has dwindled a bit, I guess considering that I do come from an Irish background, some family members would say that’s nothing to brag about. I’m considered the light weight of my family when it comes to drinking, and I’ll wear that title proudly. I don’t want to end up like my brother who has to blow into a machine to start his car. So the number #1 thing on my agenda this weekend is definitely to treat myself to some adult beverages and relax, especially after attending my assistant’s daughter’s birthday party Saturday afternoon at hell, oops, I mean Chuck E. Cheeses.

Before I forget, excuse my overly emotional posts recently. It’s been an emotional roller coaster type of week for me, and this time I can’t even blame it on PMS. I’ll take all the blame. I’m going to get it together one of these days, not just for my own sake, but for those who have felt my wrath this week. My assistant at work already gave me a serious side eye the other day and told me to go into my office and close the door (sometimes she’s more like a mother, than my assistant). I’m definitely looking forward to my business trip/vacation to Orlando next month. I could use the down time, even though it would be better if I actually had a travel partner on this trip (hint hint hint).

Although, I’ll be in sunny Florida soon, I’m so happy summer is almost over in this area. I can’t wait for the first chill to hit the air so I can break out my sweaters and boots. I am definitely a fall/winter person. I love knit sweaters and scarves. Typically in the winter I don’t even bother with wearing a coat, because I don’t get cold easily, I guess it has a lot to do with living in Upstate NY as a kid and dealing with below freezing temperatures as early as October.

In any event, it’s now 12:11 a.m., so it’s officially Friday. I should have been asleep hours ago, but twitter has been my crack recently! It’s fun to go back and forth with people, especially with the likes of Karrine “Superhead” Stephens and a few others I’ve met from there. Twitter is just another form of procrastination that has been brought into my life, YAY!

BTW, I need salon suggestions. I have a black tie event coming up next weekend and I actually want to try something different with my hair besides the tousled curly look. So if anyone out there in the DC/MD area can throw some recommendations my way, by all means, do so! Until Monday, everyone have a safe weekend!

This song has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I’ve been in a Ghostface mood for the past two days!

Try smoking some weed while you sit at home drinking. The weed alone will lower your motivation to leave the house, so you’ll be safe.
Oh yeah, and that twitter thing?
I still don’t get it. Maybe I could get on mine each time I have to take a dump or have sex. That’ll keep people interested.
    Ya think?

In the words of Nancy Reagan, “Just Say No”..the only thing I’ll smoke is a hookah pipe, filled with flavoured tabacco!
Your attention span is too short for twitter…lol

Give peace a chance, insert the weed in the hookah pipe and I’ll bring some fruits to the celebration.

Hey girlie. I feel ya. There seems to be some weird cloud of “I could smack a {fill in the blank}” swirling over the DMV. Try to get some rest this weekend, that should help a bit. Have a great one!

I took time out today to spend time with my grandmother and mother, and although they nagged me to death…talking to them truly helped!

LOL. That’s great. It helps to bask in wisdom now and then (although nagging is the price you have to pay). Enjoy your weekend!

God… I love this song by Ghostface. The first song I loved by this kat was “All that I’ve Got Is You”… I believe that’s the title w/ the Jackson 5 sample.
Anyway, have a good weekend and we’ll talk soon. ~P

I love fall…. it makes no sense that we’re still wearing tank tops in the middle of September. I can’t wait to wear cute boots and jackets…
