It appears Nike is trying to do something ‘special’ for Black History Month this year. The brand recently revealed its 2015 Black History Month Collection of special edition shoes and apparel. The collection consists of BHM versions of LeBron 12s, KD7s, Kobe 9 Elites, Air Jordan XX9s, and many more.

From NIKE:
The limited edition 2015 BHM Collection includes 28 items, all featuring a black and white palette and mix of three different prints. The collection ranges from performance to lifestyle with 12 shoes and 16 apparel and accessory items for men and women.

Sport is an incredible platform to inspire and encourage positive social change,” said Michael Jackson, Vice President and General Manager of Global Basketball, Nike Brand. “Our 2015 Black History Month Collection honors and celebrates the athletes and leaders who have influenced global culture and have paved the way for our next generation.”

Those cleats are sick and so are the KD’s and high tops. But I’ve been out the sneaker game for quite some time. AND I didn’t see anything where a portion of the proceeds will go into any charity organization enhancing the black community, hmmm…

They’ve been releasing these for a few years now. I like them. I really loved the designs that they released for BHM 2013, but I have to admire them from a distance because I’m not spending a lot money on sneakers that serve no higher purpose.

    What would MLK say?

As much as we give Nike, blacks should get one pair of Jordans free every Feb and stock options.

The shoes are sick as hell, but the principle of the collection is so very very wrong! Well played Satan, well played….
