Nicki Minaj Debuts High-End Kmart Couture Collection

Two years ago, Nicki Minaj set out to bring affordable fashion to the everyday woman when she teamed up with Kmart to launch her own apparel line. The Trinidad-bred rapper has since decided to expand her brand with a limited edition couture collection geared towards women who prefer the finer things in life.

“The Couture Collection features elegant fabrics, supple leathers and sexy laces sourced from Europe and beyond,” a press release explained. “These exquisite pieces are all limited edition, so act fast to bring a stylish slice of the runway into your closet today.”

Black is the collection’s dominant color, with surprisingly, only one item—a wool corset blazer—being offered in hot pink. Additional offerings include fitted pants, clingy bodycon dresses, leather jackets, and neoprene bodysuits. Unlike her affordable Classic Collection, the Kmart Couture Collection pieces range from $75.00 to $225.00.

Check out some of the featured items from the collection modeled by Nicki herself and let us know what you think!

*LOL* Maybe not, but I can’t fault people for trying to bring traditionally expensive clothes to a setting where there are lower costs. Buuuut….then again, does that mean the quality is the same? Soooo many questions! I’m glad I’ll never have to answer them!

    To each its own.

If she wants to sell her product, then that’s her business.

High-end Kmart couture is an oxymoron.

I laughed and then I took a good look. A lot of young’ns will buy it. Good for her. There’s a market and she’s trying to broaden hers. This is no different then Instagram clothes. Cool for clubbing and hand washing, hang dry. Price point makes sense for the style/quality.
On the low that shearling vest is nice for fall weather. At least it’s real leather & lamb fur.
