Jourdan Dunn Is The First Black Woman British Vogue Solo Cover Star In 12 Years

Jourdan Dunn is making history as the cover star of British Vogue’s February 2015 issue. The supermodel is British Vogue’s first Black solo cover star since Naomi Campbell in 2002.

After being called out for having all white cover starts In 2014, British Vogue decided to finally to do the right thing and place the seasoned and very accomplished supermodel on the cover. Though we see this as a step in the right direction — we are hoping British Vogue, as well U.S. Vogue — start to show more diversity when choosing their cover stars and editorial features.

British Vogue’s shared an Instagram of all its 2014 covers and was immediately called out for the lack of diversity.

Happy New Year! As we begin 2015, look back at 2014’s Vogue covers
