The Nutcracker Got a Makeover & We’re Here For It

The Nutcracker is exactly 123 years old. And although there’s been many versions of it performed, no one tops the California Philharmonic Orchestra.

The orchestra’s maestro Victor Vener wanted to put his own spin on the Nutcrack and invited Cyrus “Glitch” Spencer, Kevin “Konkrete” Davis and James “BDash” Derrick (from “So You Think You Can Dance” and “America’s Best Dance Crew”) to join in on the orchestra’s festivities.

And it was absolutely amazing. The dancers were dressed as toy soldiers and put on some dance moves that Pyotr Tchaikovsky never saw in his lifetime.

It’s always great when something old, becomes new. Especially when trying to capture the attention of a new audience.
