Nene Leakes is out and transgender make-up artist and ‘model’ Amiyah Scott is in. According to The Wrap, Amiyah transitioned about 10 years ago, when she was 17.

Scott reportedly will join Kim Fields as part of next season’s cast.

Sources have not said if Scott will be a full-time housewife, or just a ‘friend’, who makes appearances throughout the season. As far as Scott’s personal life, she has been linked in the past to several rappers, but currently there’s no information about her relationship status.

Haven’t watched the show in years. This would’ve done me in if I was still tuning in. I can’t even stand to watch women cat fight with each other. There’s no way I’d be willing to watch women cat fight with men/trans. Funny how the black housewives show is the one with the most non-hetero, unmarried cast on it. It didn’t start out that way when the series premiered.

The people who organized the show lust after conflict and tensions among women. There are new cast members and it is sad that many fights have occurred throughout the duration of the “reality” TV shows existence. Celebrity culture has been very exploitative and destructive in the lives of so many people. We lie in a new generation, so it is not surprising for Amiyah to be on the show.

Of course they are going to make the Atl cast the guiena pigs for this. This way if anyone makes a comment about her being transgender Bravo gets the added viewers/media attention for the transphobia and people will add this to the “blacks are more homophobic/transphobic than the rest of America”rehotoric. If everyone is nice to her face and makes any comments behind her back you get a more entertaining reunion show. But, Bravo would never add a transgender person to the Orange County, Beverly Hills or New York shows. Those rich white women may be attention wh0res but they have real money and can legitimately threaten to leave if they don’t like the casting because they don’t need Bravo checks to survive. Some of them are unapologetically Christian and conservative. They haven’t even had black women on the other franchises.

My only gripe is can’t they find ATL natives? Amiyah is from New Orleans
