It’s a rare condition, in this day and age to read any good news on the newspaper page‘ but – A mini Family Matters reunion is happening just in time for the holiday season and our hearts are warming in anticipation! Our favorite TV parents – Carl Winslow, played by Reginald VelJohnson and his on-screen wife Harriette Winslow, played by Jo Marie Payton are reuniting on the small screen for the first time in over 17 years since their hit 90s sitcom wrapped after a nine-year run, for an upcoming LIFETIME Christmas film titled, “The Flight Before Christmas”.

The upcoming film will chronicle a recently broken up couple, played by former “Blossom” star Mayim Bialik and “Sequestered” star Ryan McPartlin, stranded in Montana on Christmas Eve.

Here’s the synopsis:

Excited to take the next step in their relationship and move in with her boyfriend, Stephanie is crushed when he drops the bombshell that he wants to break up. Faced with spending the holidays heartbroken and homeless, she decides to fly home to Connecticut. On a red-eye the day before Christmas, Stephanie finds herself seated next to Michael, who is planning to propose to his college girlfriend. The two get off to a rocky start but things get even worse when the pilot announces that a huge, unexpected snowstorm is crossing the country. Their flight is diverted to a small town in Montana where Stephanie snags the last available room at the town’s bed and breakfast. Despite their differences, she offers to share the room with Michael and try their best to get along.

Thanks for this, Lifetime. Y’all have brought us so much suspense and drama and we’re truly hyped to be adding nostalgia to that mix.

Seeing Carl and Harriette together again will definitely bring back an array of feelings. Brace yourselves accordingly.

“The Flight Before Christmas” premieres Saturday, December 5th at 8/7c on Lifetime. You can view a full schedule of the special Lifetime holiday movie lineup here.

This is great news. I enjoyed watching this show and recently thought to myself, Family Matters should be in the FREE tv line-up. I gonna be pro-active and e-mail the networks in my area.

Family matters airs a few times a day on TV One if that helps. I think it also comes on some other cable channels as well.
