The rumor about Amiyah Scott joining the latest season of Real Housewives of Atlanta may have been off, but it appears the transgender model has an even bigger project in the works and it involves your favorite show.

TMZ claims Scott has landed a role in an Empire spinoff creator Lee Daniels is working on. Word is the spinoff will be a prequel of sorts, centered around a young Cookie Lyon and her life before Lucious and the music biz. Daniels reportedly saw Scott and loved her look and thought she’d be perfect to play a member of a girl group in the coming project which he is said to have asked her to read for in late August.

That’s all the details on this project so far, but with some fans already losing faith in the Fox show we’re wondering if this spinoff will ever see the light of day. One thing that is clear is Scott is an obvious fan of the franchise.

Do you want to see a spinoff?

I’m so done with this prequel crap.

GTFOH! I can’t stand Lee Daniels!

They need to figure out how to get Empire right before they think about a spinoff. There are so many writing flaws with Empire. Get one show right before you worry about another.

Good luck on that. Everyone deserves to see themselves represented, but trans life doesn’t interest me, so I won’t be tuning in.

Ditto, I find the whole trans thing boring. But yeah, everyone deserves representation. I never watched Empire because I don’t care much for Terence Howard, and have a hard time separating him from whatever character he plays.

Empire has turned into a social experiment. I stopped watching that show after the first episode. The actors are extremely talented but it’s just not for me.

Not here for it. I can barely take Empire. I’m also over Lee Daniels pushing his agenda down my throat.

Lee Daniels’ disrespectful comments about black women and black people are well known. I’m not a fan of Daniels on many issues. As for the transgender human being on the spin off, it is the sign of the times. I usually watch other shows during the time such shows are on.

I miss the days when men were men and women were women. This foolishness here is too much. Thank goodness I never watched Empire.
